Why are you named after a pocket knife?
Intentionally spelled with one K, the name Jacknife draws on two ideas that are important to us: quality and flexibility.
A number of varieties of tuna have “jack” in their name. Joining the reference to tuna with the word “knife” represents the connection between quality ingredients and careful craftsmanship required to make good sushi.
Another name for a pocket knife, the jackknife is versatile, reliable, and always at the ready. All associations we’re pleased to make with our exciting, quick, quality food.
What was your menu inspired by?
Born from the idea that fast-casual food can be healthy – and tasty, Jacknife takes fresh, high quality ingredients and carefully crafts them into excitingly delicious food for you to enjoy in a flash. We all prioritize efficiency more now than ever. At Jacknife, we make it fast and keep it fresh.
How do your food lockers works?
Taking out? We made pickup convenient so you can get your grub and get moving. Grab your order from our food lockers located in our vestibule. Select your name from the screen and enter your order number for pickup. Hot and cold items may be in separate lockers. *Please see cashier for alcohol purchases. ID is required.
How does your pickup lane work?
Live life in the fast lane. Select “pick up lane” from our online ordering platform and a Jacknife crew member will bring your order out so you can stay in (your car). When you arrive, follow signs for curbside pickup and select the link provided in your confirmation text to let us know you’re here.
How does your delivery system work?
Want Jacknife to come to you? Select “delivery” from our online ordering platform and we’ll send it your way.
We also deliver to the Madison area suburbs weekly. Place your order by 1pm and we’ll deliver it between 5pm and 6pm.

Tuesday we deliver to Sun Prairie, Cottage Grove & Deforest
Wednesday we deliver to Oregon, Verona & Fitchburg
Thursday we deliver to Middleton & Waunakee
Do you offer parking on-site?
Garage parking is available, please enter the garage on Ingersoll Street. The first 15 minutes are free for Jacknife guests. Two hour street parking is also available and first come, first serve. Don’t want to park? Try our pickup lane.
Are you kid friendly?
Bring the entire family! Kids love our chicken teriyaki bites and avocado rolls!
